JAISAMAND ISLAND RESORT is situated in the midst of the largest man-made lake in Asia and the second largest in the world, Jaisamand Lake. The Resort is located on a 40 acre island, only approachable by a 4.5 kilometers boat ride. It provides a panoramic view of the picturesque surroundings. The unbelievable vastness of the lake, ringed with the undulating aravalis range transports one into a world of pristine, chaste natural beauty. The smaller islands are home to some of the most exotic migratory birds. Three kilometers from Jaisamand Lake is the wild life game sanctuary spread over on area of one hundred and forty five square kilometer and has a motorable road. The sanctuary shelters panthers, spotted deer, sambhar & sloth bear. Jaisamand is well connected by air, road & rail from all cities in Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

JAISAMAND LAKE
Fifty kilometer south east of Udaipur lies Jaisamand or Jai Samundra Lake, one of the largest sheets of fresh water in the world. Fourteen Kilometers in length & nine kilometer in width, the lake has a circumference of nearly 88 sq. kilometer. The dam measures 330 mts. (1202 ft.) In length, 35 mts. (166 ft.) in height. It was built by the late Maharana Jai Singh, who on its inauguration on 2nd June 1691 walked around it disturbing gold equal to his own weight in charity. He built six charities (Cenotaphs) with finely embroidered elephants in front, the temple of the Lord Shiva in the center on the embarkment. The palace on the lake was the winter capital of the rulers of Mewar.
